The organisation structure for the Finance Directorate is shown on the Appendix J Organochart.
The Section is responsible for the management of financial resources in order to ensure prudent utilisation of resources and accountability. It is also responsible for the management of assets, investments and stores.
The Section performs the following specific functions:
a) Prepare financial reports in order to comply with regulations and facilitate decision making;
b) Prepare and maintain an asset register in order to ensure accountability;
c) Prepare financial statements in order to facilitate external audits and for decision making;
d) Process payroll and statutory returns in order to facilitate the payment of salaries and statutory obligations;
e) Collaborate with stakeholders on the preparation and implementation of the annual budget in order to ensure that all expenditures are within the approved estimates and in compliance with financial regulations;
f) Manage the investment of funds in order to increase value; and
g) Stores management.
The Directorate is headed by the Director Finance (Deputy Commissioner of Police) who is assisted by one Deputy Director Finance (Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police).
