The organisation structure for the Crime Intelligence Directorate is shown on the Appendix I Organochart.
The Directorate is responsible for management of intelligence services to the Zambia Police and other authorities in order to facilitate decision making and execution of operations.
The Directorate performs the following specific functions:
a) Collect, correlate and analyse intelligence information from various sources;
b) Conduct regular threat assessment reviews and make appropriate recommendations;
c) Advise relevant authorities on the protection of key and vital installations based on the assessed threat; and
d) Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies on the monitoring or arrest of persons with links to crime.
The Directorate is headed by a Director – Crime Intelligence (Deputy Commissioner of Police) and assisted by one (1) Deputy Director (Senior Commissioner of Police).
