The Community Services section is responsible for developing and implementing Community Policing programmes aimed at preventing and controlling crime. The Section is responsible for providing counselling, child protection, victim support, school liaison and chaplaincy services in the Division. The section also provides chaplaincy, counselling, child protection and victim support services.
The Section performs the following specific functions:
a) Mobilize community participation in crime prevention;
b) Implement Community Policing strategies;
c) Conduct sensitization and awareness programmes on crime;
d) Provide counselling services to victims of crime;
e) Provide chaplaincy services and psycho – social counselling to officers and their families; and
f) Provide child protection services and support to vulnerable victims of crime.
The Section is headed by a Divisional Community Services Officer (Senior Superintendent) who is assisted by one (1) Divisional Chaplain (Superintendent), one (1) Divisional Victim Support Officer (Superintendent), one (1) Divisional Community Safety Officer (Superintendent), one (1) Divisional School Liaison Officer (Superintendent) and one (1) Divisional Child Protection Officer Superintendent.
