The General Investigations Section (C1) is responsible for conducting and coordinating investigations for general and complex cases relating to crimes against persons and property. It also provides technical support to Police Divisions on matters related to general crime investigations.
The Section performs the following specific functions:
a) Conduct general crime investigations that are complex in nature;
b) Investigate referred cases from divisions; and
c) Facilitate the training of detectives in criminal investigations and detection in the country.
The Section is headed by a Deputy Director – General Investigations (C1) (Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police) who is assisted by one (1) Assistant Director – General Investigations (C1) (Assistant Commissioner of Police).
