The National Command Centre

The Centre is responsible for coordinating response to emergency of all police operations in order to facilitate the maintenance of law and order.

 

The Centre performs the following specific functions:

 

a) Coordination and quick response through the use of cameras;

 

b) To provide real time information from security cameras on disasters when need arises; and

 

c) To coordinate activities relating to disasters.

 

The Centre is headed by a National Incident Commander (Deputy Commissioner of Police) who is assisted by one Deputy National Incident Commander (Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police).

 

The Centre comprises the following:

 

i. Operations;

 

ii. Logistics;

 

iii. Human Resource and Administration; and

 

iv. Information Technology and Communication.
